Key Concepts

Learn the essential building blocks of OLPN, including Entities, Properties, Datasets, and Credentials.

Core Building Blocks

To understand how OLPN works, it’s essential to grasp four core concepts:

  • Entity: A person or organization within the OLPN ecosystem. Examples include an individual lawyer, a law firm, or a bar association.
  • Property: A domain or platform controlled by an entity. This could be a lawyer’s personal site, a firm’s website, or a publishing platform like TLE Columns.
  • Dataset: A collection of published works, credentials, and related activities managed by a property. Datasets form the verifiable record of contributions.
  • Credential: A signed, verifiable statement linking an entity to a property, role, or piece of content. For example, a bar association might issue a credential verifying that a lawyer is an active member.

These concepts interconnect to form a decentralized web of trust. Entities control properties, which manage datasets, and credentials bind it all together.
